Virginia Memory Support Communities
Memory Support communities provide specialized care for people who have Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia and memory loss. These communities are secure and have 24-hour staff support, while offering residents as much freedom as possible. Most offer both private or semi-private bedrooms and bathrooms as well as safe and secure common spaces for residents to move about.
Memory Support communities will also offer programs and activities designed to enhance the lives of the people who live in them. Staff members of these communities are skilled at dealing with people who have different forms of dementia and cognitive impairment and they work to ensure the safety, dignity and respect of residents.
Choice Connections can help you determine what type of care will best meet your loved one’s needs and whether or not specialized dementia care is most appropriate.
